J-MEMS Call for Papers

The IEEE Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems publishes Papers and Letters on the field of MEMS.

Scope:

  • Theory, modeling, design,
  • Fabrication, assembly and packaging,
  • Performance characterization and reliability of MEMS

In general, JMEMS papers and letters contain experimental data.

The field of MEMS includes, but is not limited to:

  • Mechanical Sensors and Systems (inertia, pressure, force, strain)
  • Physical MEMS (thermal, magnetic, opto-mechanical)
  • Bio & Chemical Micro Sensors & Systems
  • MEMS enhanced Micro-Fluidic Components and Systems
  • Medical Microsystems
  • RF MEMS
  • MEMS for data storage and computing
  • Micro-Actuators
  • Micro and Nano Robotic Systems
  • Scientific Micro- and Nanoinstruments
  • Energy Harvesting and Power MEMS
  • Nano-Electro-Mechanical Devices and Systems

The IEEE JOURNAL OF MICROELECTROMECHANICAL SYSTEMS welcomes review papers from all microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) related fields. A review paper shall provide a complete overview and critical evaluation of the state of the art in a particular MEMS domain; it shall contain honest discussions and targeted conclusions on well-defined aspects. Thus, review papers allow readers to find the most promising and high impact concepts and solutions in design, fabrication, packaging, or test of MEMS and related areas. Young researchers will read review papers for an efficient and qualified start into a new field; senior academics and industrial professionals will include the conclusions in their discussions on future research directions and strategic considerations.

Review papers are welcome any time and will be processed and evaluated like any regular manuscript submitted to JMEMS.
