The IEEE Electron Devices Reviews (EDR) publishes review papers, special topics, tutorial papers, history, and plenary lectures on fundamental physical electronics, basic physical electronics, and all aspects of manufacturing related to electron and ion devices.
The EDR is an online-only hybrid review journal aimed to disseminate the detailed knowledge of the lessons learned from the past microelectronics device research & development (R&D) and manufacturing, present R&D efforts to continue to manufacture legacy integrated circuit (IC) chips, and implementation of emerging microelectronics device technology to manufacturing. Topical areas include device technology built around insulators, metals, organic materials, micro-plasmas, semiconductors, quantum-effect structures, vacuum devices, and emerging materials with applications in bioelectronics, biomedical electronics, computation, communications, displays, micro-electro-mechanics, imaging, micro-actuators, nanodevices, optoelectronics, photovoltaics, power ICs, and micro-sensors. In particular, selected reviews by leading researchers and seminal reviews by pioneering inventors and technologists in the broad topical areas of electron devices are published.
