Flexible Electronics and Displays Committee
Objective
The Flexible Electronics and Display Technical Committee (FEDTC) is established to form a strong network in the field of flexible electronics and displays, providing opportunities to share technical information through talks, conferences, publications and special issues in this field. Flexible electronics and displays have attracted a lot of attention for their enormous potential in many applications to benefit humanity. FEDTC will promote and facilitate research and publication in the IEEE related to the field of flexible electronics and displays. FEDTC will support organization of EDS workshops/conferences, seminars/webinars, special sessions, special journal issues, learning materials, best practices, tutorials, sessions, webinars, and other educational resources related to the field of flexible electronics and displays. FEDTC will be source of professional knowledge on state-of-the-art best practices and trends in the field. Furthermore, our goal is to stimulate growth of this specific TC within the IEEE EDS to engage more members interested in the activities and to benefit from IEEE membership. It will provide technical sponsorship to the International Flexible Electronics and Technology Conference (IFETC), Electron Devices Technology and Manufacturing (EDTM) and International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM), etc. Accepted papers presented at the conference will be published in the IEEE Xplore. Outstanding papers are also encouraged to be submitted to IEEE Journal on Flexible Electronics (J-FLEX). We hope to advance the scientific knowledge through EDS and support young professionals in this field.
Membership
Members are volunteers who serve for a two-year renewable term at the invitation of the committee chair. Membership is limited to two consecutive terms so that new ideas can be generated, incorporated, and executed.
History
This TC was used to be Organic Electronics. Prof. Xiaojun Guo served as the TC chair for the 1st and 2nd term from 2016-2019. Dr. Ta-Ya Chu is the TC chair since 2020. Considering the EDS TCs didn't cover the broader flexible electronics areas and display fields, we changed the name to "Flexible Electronics and Displays" in 2017.
