Governance

The activities of the Electron Devices Society are governed by a Constitution and Bylaws and are administered by a Board of Governors (BoG) and an Administrative Society Forum (Forum).  The BoG consists of the President, President-Elect, Jr. & Sr. Past Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and 22 elected members-at-large.  All members of the BoG must be members of the Society in good standing.  The BoG have voting privileges that include Constitution and Bylaw changes and the election of Society officers and Board of Governors Members-at-Large.

The Forum consists of all BoG members, Executive Committee Members and Standing and Technical Committee Chairs.  The Forum votes on administrative matters of the Society.  In addition, Ad hoc Committee Chairs, Chapter Chairs and all members serving on committees chaired by a voting member of the Forum shall be ex-officio members of the Forum without vote.

There are two EDS Governance Meetings each a year, with one meeting always being held in December in conjunction with the International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM). The other meeting is normally held in the May-June time period in conjunction with another EDS sponsored conference or event.

EDS members are encouraged to become involved with the activities of the Society and its governing bodies.  We strongly encourage all EDS members interested in sharing in the stewardship of the Society to please contact Laura Riello of the EDS Executive Office for more information.
